HOW TO APPLY :
Candidates are required to apply Online by using the website
https://upsconline.nic.in Detailed instructions for filling up online
applications are available on the above mentioned website. Brief Instructions
for filling up the “Online Application Form”
AGE LIMITS :
A candidate must have attained the age of 21 years and must
not have attained the age of 32 years on 1st August, 2019, i.e. he must have
been born not earlier than 2nd August, 1987 and not later than 1st August,
1998.
MINIMUM EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
The candidate must hold a Bachelor’s degree

The online Applications can be filled up to 18th March, 2019
till 6:00 PM. The eligible candidates shall be issued an e-Admit Card three
weeks before the commencement of the examination. The e-Admit Card will be made
available in the UPSC website [https://upsconline.nic.in] for downloading by
candidates. No Admit Card will be sent by post
UPSC Exam Stages
The Civil Services Examination will consist of two
successive stages (vide Appendix I Section-I) (i) Civil Services (Preliminary)
Examination (Objective type) for the selection of candidates for Government
strives to have a workforce which reflects gender balance and women candidates
are encouraged to apply. the Main Examination; and (ii) Civil Services (Main)
Examination (Written and Interview) for the selection of candidates for the
various Services and posts

NUMBER OF ATTEMPTS :
Every candidate appearing at the Examination, who is
otherwise eligible, shall be permitted six attempts at the examination.
UPSC Exam Fees
Candidates applying (excepting Female/SC/ST/PwBD candidates
who are exempted from payment of fee) for Civil Services (Preliminary)
Examination are required to pay a fee of Rs.100/- (Rupees One Hundred only)
either by depositing the money in any Branch of SBI by cash, or by using net
banking facility of State Bank of India or by using Visa/Master/RuPay
Credit/Debit card.
PLAN OF EXAMINATION
The competitive examination comprises two successive stages
:
(i) Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination (Objective
Type) for the screening & selection of candidates for Indian Forest Service
(Main) Examination; and
(ii) Indian Forest Service (Main) Examination (Written and
Interview) for the selection of candidates against the vacancies identified and
reported for the Indian Forest Service Examination.
UPSC Preliminary Examination Syllabus
Preliminary Examination : The Examination shall comprise of
two compulsory Papers of 200 marks each. Note :
(i) Both the question papers will be of the objective type
(multiple choice questions).
(ii) The General Studies Paper-II of the Civil Services
(Preliminary) Examination will be a qualifying paper with minimum qualifying
marks fixed at 33%.
(iii) The question papers will be set both in Hindi and English. (iv) Details of the syllabi are indicated in Part A of Section III.
