    Indian Air Force invites Indian citizens (Men and Women) to be part of this elite force as Group A Gazetted Officers in Flying and Ground Duty (Technical and Non-Technical) branches. Online examination will be conducted on 24 Aug 19 and 25 Aug 19 for AFCAT exam.

    How to Apply for AFCAT Exam?

    Aspirants for IAF are required to apply online by using the link https://careerindianairforce.cdac.in, or https://afcat.cdac.in. Aadhaar Card is mandatory for online registration.

    Examination fee for AFCAT Exam

    After filling in the online application form, the examination fee of Rs. 250/- (non-refundable) for AFCAT entry (not applicable for NCC special entry and Meteorology) may be paid online.

    Age limit for AFCAT Exam

    Flying Branch through AFCAT and NCC Special Entry: 20 to 24 years as on 01 Jul 2020 i.e. born between 02 July 1996 to 01 July 2000 (both dates inclusive).Upper age limit for candidates holding valid and current Commercial Pilot License issued by DGCA (India) is relaxable upto 26 years i.e. born between 02 July 1994 to 01 July 2000 (both dates inclusive).
    Ground Duty (Technical & Non-Technical) Branch: 20 to 26 years as on 01 Jul 2020 i.e. born between 02 July 1994 to 01 July 2000 (both dates inclusive).

    Educational Qualifications for AFCAT Exam

    Flying Branch
    Candidates should have mandatorily passed with a minimum of 60% marks each in Maths and Physics at 10+2 level and
    (a) Graduation with minimum three years degree course in any discipline from a recognized University with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent.
    OR
    (b) BE/B Tech degree (Four years course) from a recognised University with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent.
    OR
    (c) Candidates who have cleared Section A & B examination of Associate Membership of Institution of Engineers (India) or Aeronautical Society of India from a recognised University with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent.

    Ground Duty (Technical) Branch.
    (aa) Aeronautical Engineer (Electronics) {AE (L)}. Candidates with a minimum of 60% marks each in Physics and Mathematics at 10+2 level and a minimum of four years degree graduation/integrated post-graduation
    qualification in Engineering/ Technology from recognized University OR cleared Sections A and B examination of Associate Membership of Institution of Engineers (India) or Aeronautical Society of India or Graduate membership examination of the Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers by actual studies with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent in the following disciplines:-

    • (aab) Computer Engineering/Technology.

    (aa) Administration. Graduate Degree (Minimum three years degree course) in any discipline from a recognised university with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent or cleared section A & B examination of Associate
    Membership of Institution of Engineers (India) or Aeronautical Society of India from a recognised university with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent.
    (ab) Education. MBA/ MCA or MA/ MSc degree in English/ Physics/Mathematics/ Chemistry/ Statistics/ International relations/ International Studies/ Defence Studies/ Psychology/ Computer Science/ IT/ Management/
    Mass Communication/ Journalism/ Public Relation with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate of all papers put together in Post-Graduation (Minimum two years programme) and 60% marks in graduation, (both recognized by UGC/ Competent Accreditation Authority). For integrated courses (single degree without permission to exit and lateral entry), the minimum duration must be as per prevailing UGC guidelines with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate of all papers put together.

    NCC Special Entry (Flying Branch)
    NCC Air Wing Senior Division ‘C’ certificate acquired on or after 02 Jun 17 is mandatory. Candidates should have mandatorily passed with a minimum of 60% marks each in Maths and Physics at 10+2. Graduates with minimum three years degree course in any discipline from a recognized University with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent. OR BE/B Tech degree (Four years course) from a recognised University with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent OR Candidates who have cleared Section A & B examination of Associate Membership of Institution of Engineers (India) or Aeronautical Society of India from a recognised University with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent.

    Meteorology
    Post Graduate Degree in any Science stream/ Mathematics/ Statistics/Geography/Computer Applications/Environmental Science/ Applied Physics/ Oceanography/Meteorology/Agricultural Meteorology/Ecology & Environment /Geo-physics/Environmental Biology with minimum of 50% marks in aggregate of all papers put together (Provided Maths and Physics were studied at Graduation Level with a minimum of 55% marks in each).

    Indian Air Force invites ONLINE application from UNMARRIED MALE INDIAN CITIZENS (citizens of Nepal are also eligible) for selection test on 10 & 11 MARCH 2018 to join as Airmen in Group „X‟Trades (except Education Instructor Trade) and Group „Y‟ {Except Automobile Technician, GTI, IAF (P), IAF(S) and Musician} Trades.
    (THE SELECTION TEST IS NOT FOR SELECTION AS COMMISSIONED OFFICERS/ PILOTS/ NAVIGATORS).

    IMPORTANT NOTIFICATION TO CANDIDATES

    Educational Qualification
     Group „X‟ (Except Education Instructor Trade).

    • Passed Intermediate/10+2/ Equivalent examination with Mathematics, Physics and English with minimum 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English OR
    •  Passed Three years Diploma Course in Engineering in any stream, as mentioned in the drop down menu of apply online section under candidate‟s login on the CASB web portal.The candidate should have completed  the course from a Government recognized Polytechnic institute with 50%  marks  in aggregate and 50 % marks in English in diploma or in Intermedidate/Marticulation, if English is not subject in Diploma Course.

    Group „Y‟ {Except Automobile Technician, GTI, IAF (P), IAF(S) and Musician} Trades.

    •  Passed Intermediate / 10+2 / Equivalent Examination in any stream/subjects approved by Central / State Education Boards with minimum 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English.

    Group „Y‟ Medical Assistant Trade Only.
    Passed 10+2/Intermediate/ equivalent exam with  Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate and 50%   marks in English.

    Note–1: Candidate eligible for Group X examination are also eligible for Group Y and would be given an option of appearing in both group X and Group Y exam in one sitting while filling up the online registration form.
    Note – 2: Diploma holders are eligible to appear for Group X trades only.
    Note – 3: Education Boards listed in Council of Boards for School Education (COBSE) website as members, as on date of registration will only be permitted.

    Exam fees
    Examination fee of Rs.250/-is to be paid by the candidate while registering for the online examination. The payment can be made by using Debit Cards/ Credit Cards/Internet Banking through payment gateway. The examination fee can also be paid by Challan payment at any Axis Bank Branch.

    • Passport size colour photograph of size 10 KB to 50 KB (front portrait in light background without head gear except for Sikhs) recent (taken not before November 2017).
    • The photograph is to be taken with candidate holding a black slate in front of his chest with his Name and Date of Photograph taken, clearly written on it with white chalk in capital letters.
    • Candidate’s left hand thumb impression image (Size 10 KB to 50 KB).
    • Candidate’s signature image (Size 10 KB to 50 KB).
    • Candidate’s parents (Father/Mother/Guardian) signature image (if candidate is below 18 years on the date of filling the online application.
    • The marksheet indicating marks in English subject (if applying on the basis of 3 Yrs Engineering Diploma qualification) in diploma or 12th/10th if English is not a subject in diploma.
    •  Candidate must have his valid E-mail ID and Mobile No. for successful online registration.
    • Candidate should preferably have his Aadhaar Card Number handy.
    • Candidates are to reach at the examination Centre with colour print out of provisional admit card. Candidates are liable to be debarred from appearing in the online test in case anomalies /  incorrect information are observed during initial verification at the examination venue or at any subsequent stage of selection process.
    • The candidate has to carry a valid ID proof whenever he reports for the selection test (Phase I & II) and medical test.

    Age Limit

    • Date of Birth Block: Candidate born between 13 January 1998 and 02 January 2002 (both days inclusive) are eligible to apply.
    • In case, a candidate clears all the stages of the Selection Procedure, then the upper age limit as on date of enrollment is 21 years.
